On the international front, TCB recently joined a sizeable delegation from Bonaire to visit the growing market in Brazil. Owing to the vast improvement in airlift, our arrivals have almost doubled in 2006 compared to 2005. 2007 is shaping up to be another great year. The delegation participated in a show in San Paulo and went on to make 15 stops in Brazil during a busy week of promoting the island. The Brazilian Market poses a lot of potential and our island is a prime destinaiton for divers in Brazil.

TCB recognizes the effort and time that the private sector has put into the Brazilian Marketing trip. Thank you Port Bonaire, Plaza Resort Bonaire, Buddy Dive, Belmar, Caribbean Club, Harbour Village, Sun Rentals, BHG & Bonhata

TCB-EUROPE REPORT

New viral game live!

In June TCB Europe put its new viral game online. ‘Fish or Miss’ is this new online game and it is dedicated to dive sites and the wonderful wildlife surrounding Bonaire. A map of the island, dive sites marked by the yellow stones: it’s all there. And, for the first time, we managed to involve streaming video in Bonaire’s viral game allowing every website visitor a glimpse of the real underwater world before entering the game. Fish or Miss will premiere on the Dutch market with others to follow. So, if you want to find out for yourself, some knowledge of Dutch is required. Surf to www.visitbonaire.tv and select [Nederlands]. A thank you goes to Port Bonaire, magazine Duiken, duiken.nl and others for providing the prizes. Enjoy!

Mailing to Dutch arrival database

Once again TCB Europe received the new arrival database from the Kralendijk Office. Thanks guys for the good work! Unfortunately, many tourists have illegible hand writing making it impossible to enter their email addresses in our e-magazine databases. Not to mention the many tourists not even bothering to fill it in. So TCB Europe sent out quite a large post mailing last week to all arrivals telling them about the new game and how they can win their next trip. Entering the game means entering your e-mail address. We are looking forward to up to 40% conversion. And when we have their email address, the low cost marketing can start!

Diver Guide advertising

Due to operational and tactical decisions made fall 2006, the marketing in the so called secondary markets is based on ‘consolidation’ rather than on growth. Maintaining attention and not primarily gaining attention. So these means we can see online some low cost ads both offline and online in these markets. Like the ad in Diver’s Guide UK. Only half of last years size and awaiting the new branding still in the design we made for the Usona campaign 2006. So no extra costs for designers. But still Bonaire is present where we should be: right in the heart of the divers.

Press campaign dedicated to Stinapa and TAP

Last months efforts to the Dutch and non-Dutch press were dedicated to TAP and Stinapa. TAP of course for launching the Mama Smile campaign on island to make sure the quality of our hospitality can grow even further. Stinapa launched its new website making all their wonderful work accessible and understandable around the globe. In September’s clipping report we will see the effect of all efforts.

« New e-zine to Dutch and secondary markets

The six weeks rhythm showed a new e-magazine in the planning during the last weeks of June in both the Dutch and the secondary markets. Content in the secondary markets was of course mainly dive related, where the Dutch subscribers could also read some more leisure and other information. Members of the private sector who want to put their specials in next edition (themselves or via their tour operators) please contact TCB Europe’s Anne Martin via Europe@tourismbonaire.com.
